Vigor3200 series is DrayTek's latest Quad-WAN Gigabit High-Speed Security router that has been specifically designed to meet the network requirements of small to medium business networks. The Vigor3200 series which comprises of Vigor3200 and Vigor3200n (with IEEE 802.11n wireless) features a 4-port Gigabit WAN and 1 Gigabit LAN port. Its Multi-Subnet interface with Multi-VLAN function allows users to allocate network functions and resources between workgroups more easily. With Vigor3200 series, administrators now have greater control than ever to plan, manage, and monitor network usage to ensure an efficient and secure network.
The four Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports of Vigor3200 series support Cable Modem, ADSL/VDSL modems, Satellite Feed, any Ethernet based connection, while the additional USB port on the interface facilitates further support for 3.5G Mobile Broadband connectivity. The Multi-WAN interface allows for any combination of WAN sources to be utilised simultaneously and configured for the purposes increasing data throughput, load-balancing or for backup in the event of line failure. Should you happen to have your own Web server, FTP server or mail server, the Multi-WAN interface of Vigor3200 series can also provide you with additional bandwidth.
Vigor3200 series' single Gigabit LAN port can be used in conjunction with a PoE switch (such as the VigorSwitch P2260) or a Gigabit switch (such as VigorSwitch G2080/G2240) to support large quantities of data transfer and to connect multiple client devices (PC/servers) to your network.
Vigor3200 series features support for multiple subnets to allow you to make the most of your attainable bandwidth. For example, you can allocate your 100Mps broadband connection(s) more heavily on time-critical applications such as VoIP, Web or FTP servers, or even towards certain key departments within your business. Bandwidth from additional 'low-cost' ADSL connections or cable lines can be allotted to less time-critical areas of your network such as the mail server which doesn't require fast data/voice packet transmissions. In doing so, Vigor3200 series helps you put your resources where they are most needed, and create a more effective and reliable network infrastructure.
Vigor3200 series supports 64 simultaneous hardware-based VPN tunnels with a throughput of up to 40Mbps. Each of these can be configured to use any of the common VPN protocols - PPTP, IPSec, L2TP, L2TP over IPSec, etc., and any of the most up-to-date encryption methods (MPPE, AES/DES/3DES), Authentication (MD5, SHA-1), Pre-shared Key, Digital Signature (X.509). With the latest version of the series, users can now also define up to 10 VPN profiles as SSL VPNs (Secure Sockets Layer virtual private network) so that remote workers can utilise VPN via their Web browser. Additionally, with Vigor3200 series, VPN Backup and VPN load balancing (VPN trunking) ensures that the same reliability that exists in the local network also extends to remote networks.
As with all DrayTek routers, Vigor3200 series offers robust firewall security that will protect your business from inside out. The object-based SPI (Stateful Pack Inspection) firewall system has been designed to allow users to establish firewall policies with ease and flexibility, in order to build a thorough security system apt for their specific network requirements. The system is complete with enterprise-level security measures including DoS/DDoS prevention, IP-layer protection, QoS (Quality of Service Assurance) Bandwidth Management, VPN security, URL/Web content filters, and CSM (Content Security Management) functionalities.
CSM (Content Security Management) is especially useful in the corporate network to enable Administrators to control and monitor applications such as IM (Instant Messenger) and P2P (Peer-to-Peer) more effectvely. CSM can restrict inappropriate content within the business and consequently minimise distractions to employees that impede productivity.
The DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) port of the Vigor3200 series provides an additional layer of protection to servers, such as Web servers, which are frequently exposed to resources from untrusted networks. Using the user-friendly WUI of Vigor3200 series, Administrator can activate DMZ by NAT or Physical mode for the chosen server. When activated, an external sub-network is created to protect the LAN from external attacks, thus only exposing a part of the network rather than whole.
In addition to supporting printer servers, the USB port also allows the connection of a USB disk or hard drive for FTP file transfer through the Internet or local networks for added storage. The Network Administrator can set the username/password and directory/file access privileges for individual users.
Configuring Vigor3200 is easy using DrayTek's web-based configuration menu, which contains convenient tools allowing Network Administrators to manage and maintain the networks with ease, including:
